Also, if your license is downgraded, you may not employ any further foreign workers during this time, and the Home Office may decide to visit you more regularly. The Home Office have the right to turn up unannounced at your business premises to complete random audits.

In addition, if you are found to be employing illegal workers, you and your business can be fined up to £60,000 in civil penalties and an extra £20,000 per illegal worker. Fines can harm your credit rating, and the most serious offenders risk criminal prosecution. The Home Office can refuse future sponsor license applications, and your business can suffer serious reputational damage.
