- Get messy with finger painting! This is always a favorite activity for kids of all ages. Try using different colors of paint and see what happens when they mix them together. - Use recycled materials to create something new. Have your students or children collect items from around the house or yard that can be reused to make a collage or sculpture. - Get outside and collect natural items to use in your artwork. Leaves, flowers, rocks, sticks, and berries can all be used to create beautiful collages or paintings. - Make homemade play dough! This is a great activity to do with younger children. There are many recipes online for how to make your own play dough. Once you have it made, let your students or children use their imaginations to create whatever they want. You can use cookie cutters, rolling pins, and other kitchen utensils to help them out.
- Use recycled materials to make puppets! Have your students or children collect items like toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes, old socks, buttons, yarn, and fabric scraps. With a little creativity, they can turn these things into fun puppets. You can then create a script or write a story that they can act out with their puppets.
- Have a picnic! This is a great activity to do on a nice day. Spread out a blanket and have your students or children bring their art supplies with them. They can draw, paint, or color while they enjoy their snacks. Make sure to take some pictures of their artwork so you can display it later.
